As we continue expanding throughout grocery, deli, convenience, specialty retail, and foodservice channels, we're seeking a motivated Sales Account Manager to help grow our business while representing one of Pennsylvania's most recognized heritage brands.

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for driving profitable sales growth within an assigned territory by developing new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing customers. This role serves as the primary representative of Seltzer's within the market, partnering with retailers, distributors, brokers, and foodservice operators to increase product distribution, execute merchandising initiatives, and deliver exceptional customer service.

This position combines strategic account management with hands-on field sales. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable prospecting for new customers, conducting business reviews, building promotional displays, analyzing sales performance, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure customer success.

Responsibilities

  Territory & Account Management

  
  
  • Manage a portfolio of retail, distributor, convenience, specialty, and foodservice accounts within an assigned territory.
  
  
  • Develop trusted relationships with store managers, category managers, buyers, and distributor representatives.
  
  
  • Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen partnerships and identify growth opportunities.
  
  
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer questions, concerns, and service needs.
  
  
  • Maintain a consistent schedule of customer visits and account reviews.
  
  


• 
  

  Business Development

  
  
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  
  
  • Prospect new retail, deli, convenience, and foodservice accounts.
  
  
  • Present Seltzer's products, promotional programs, and seasonal offerings to prospective customers.
  
  
  • Expand product distribution within existing accounts.
  
  
  • Support the company's regional and national growth initiatives through strategic customer acquisition.
  
  


• 
  

  Sales & Merchandising

  
  
  • Ensure Seltzer's products are properly displayed and merchandised according to company standards.
  
  
  • Monitor shelf placement, inventory levels, pricing, freshness, and promotional compliance.
  
  
  • Build and maintain point-of-sale displays and promotional features.
  
  
  • Recommend inventory replenishment and assist customers with merchandising best practices.
  
  
  • Monitor competitor products, pricing, promotions, and shelf presence.
  
  


• 
  

  Customer Success

  
  
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly to customer requests and resolving issues.
  
  
  • Coordinate with Customer Service, Operations, and Finance to ensure timely order fulfillment and issue resolution.
  
  
  • Build long-term customer loyalty through consistent communication and follow-up.
  
  
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience.
  
  


• 
  

  Sales Planning & Analytics

  
  
  • Analyze account performance, sales trends, and promotional results.
  
  
  • Prepare call reports, territory updates, forecasts, and sales activity reports.
  
  
  • Maintain accurate customer information and sales activity within the CRM system.
  
  
  • Share market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive insights with Sales Leadership.
  
  
  • Assist with annual account planning and promotional calendars.

  Brand Representation

  
  
  • Serve as a professional ambassador for the Seltzer's brand.
  
  
  • Participate in customer meetings, trade shows, distributor events, and promotional activities.
  
  
  • Promote Seltzer's heritage, quality standards, and commitment to customer service.
  
  
  • Represent company values with integrity and professionalism.
  
  

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field, or equivalent experience.


• Three or more years of outside sales, account management, retail sales, or business development experience.


• Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships and grow sales.


• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.


• Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).


• Experience using CRM software or the ability to learn new systems.


• Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Preferred

• Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), grocery, food manufacturing, deli, meat, or foodservice industries.


• Knowledge of retail merchandising and category management.


• Experience working with distributors, brokers, and regional grocery chains.


• Ability to analyze sales data and identify opportunities for business growth.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel extensively throughout assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel.


• Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.


• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds of product samples, display materials, and promotional items.


• Ability to stand, bend, walk, and reach during customer visits and merchandising activities.
